France to Resume Long-Stay Visa Processing for Moroccan Applicants

Consular activity is about to resume in Morocco, which has been on hold since mid-March due to the coronavirus pandemic. The French Consulate in Rabat will open its doors starting June 29.
The processing of thousands of pending applications since the establishment of the state of health emergency period will begin on June 29, reports the MAP. According to Samey Safty, spokesperson for the diplomatic representation, it will initially be a matter of processing only long-stay visa applications, "and not short-term, so-called Schengen visas".
As for long-stay visas, they allow foreigners to stay in France for a longer period (more than 3 months). It is issued for studies, work or for family reasons.
As for the short-stay visa, under European Community law, the so-called Schengen visa, it allows foreigners to cross borders and make short-term stays in France (less than 3 months). These are visas for tourism, business trips, family or private visits.
Due to the epidemiological situation, the consulate announces that application submissions can also be made online, via the website.
