France Requires PCR Tests for Travelers with Unapproved Vaccines, Including Sputnik and Sinopharm

France has decided to subject all people, including Moroccans who have received the Russian Sputnik or Chinese Sinopharm vaccine, to a PCR test before entering its territory. Reason given: the European Medicines Agency has not yet authorized these vaccines.
"France will not recognize a vaccinated tourist with a Russian or Chinese vaccine. [...] France will not accept these vaccines until they have been authorized by the European Medicines Agency," said Clément Beaune, French Secretary of State for European Affairs, responding to questions from France info. The French official assures that the French health pass "will respect the European regulation on data protection".
The manufacturers of the Chinese and Russian vaccines have all filed applications for authorization with this agency, it is reported. Pending authorization of these vaccines, people who have received one of the vaccines will have to present a recent and positive PCR test before entering France. Currently, European countries are working to establish a list of "green" third countries, whose nationals will be accepted, provided they have the vaccine or the PCR test.
