France Repatriates Over 20,000 Nationals from Morocco Amid Flight Suspension

France is repatriating its nationals blocked in Morocco following the Moroccan decision to suspend regular flights to and from the mainland for two weeks. Thousands of French already repatriated.
More than 20,000 people blocked in Morocco - tourists, businessmen, "semi-residents" - were repatriated to France on Tuesday, November 30, 2021 as part of a program of special flights authorized by the Moroccan authorities, reports Sud Ouest. In charge, the airlines Air France and Transavia. The national company Royal Air Maroc (RAM) has also planned to operate special flights to France until December 6.
Morocco had decided last Thursday, November 25 to suspend all air links with France from Friday, November 26, 2021 at 11:59 p.m., and this, for two weeks. "This decision is taken in order to preserve Morocco’s achievements in the management of the Covid-19 pandemic and to face the deterioration of the health situation in certain neighboring European countries," the Interministerial Committee said in a statement.
