France Reaffirms Support for Morocco Amid EU Court Rulings on Trade Agreements

Following the decisions rendered by the Court of Justice of the European Union (CJEU) concerning the fisheries and agricultural agreements between the EU and Morocco, France has reaffirmed its unwavering support for the kingdom.
The Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs published a statement on Friday, stressing the "strategic" nature of the relationship between the European Union and Morocco.
Paris "takes note" of the three CJEU rulings, but insists on its willingness to continue working with its European partners to strengthen exchanges, particularly on the economic front, and preserve the achievements of the partnership, "in compliance with international law."
The Quai d’Orsay also recalled France’s commitment to Morocco, particularly with regard to the economic and social development of the Sahara. This commitment, confirmed by Emmanuel Macron himself in a message addressed to King Mohammed VI on the occasion of the Throne Feast, aims to improve the living conditions of the local populations.
