France, through its ambassador Hélène Le Gal in Rabat, has welcomed the efforts of the kingdom in its management of the health crisis due to Covid-19 and at the same time affirmed its determination to work for the strengthening of the friendship and cooperation relations between the two countries.
France and Morocco have centuries-old ties that continue to evolve. During her interview on Friday with the President of the House of Representatives, Habib El Malki, the French Ambassador to Rabat praised the "strong" human ties between the two countries.
According to the French diplomat, the management of the Covid-19 crisis has further brought the two countries closer together. Hélène Le Gal cites as proof the many repatriation operations in both directions of several people blocked due to the Covid-19 pandemic, as highlighted in a press release from the House of Representatives. But also, according to her, Morocco enjoys important assets given its vital geostrategic situation. Which, added to the exceptional situation resulting from this pandemic, "creates new opportunities for strengthening cooperation between the two countries in particular, and between Morocco and the European Union in general".
For the French official who praised Morocco’s efforts to maintain security and stability in Libya and Mali, "Our relations with Morocco will experience a significant boost in the next stage". In addition, Hélène Le Gal also stressed "the importance of consolidating parliamentary cooperation between the two legislative institutions of the two countries".
The President of the House of Representatives, Habib El Malki, affirmed Morocco’s commitment which, through its active diplomacy, led under the leadership of King Mohammed VI, intends to "restore peace and stability in North Africa and in the Sahel region", without however wanting to "prevail the dialogue to resolve disputes".
