France Implements Mandatory COVID Testing for Travelers from High-Risk Countries, Morocco Exempt

France has decided to subject travelers arriving from high-risk areas to systematic screening. Moroccans are not affected by this measure.
"We will announce today that we will systematize testing at the airport for travelers arriving from so-called red countries, that is, the countries where the virus is circulating the most," government spokesman Gabriel Attal said on the BFM Politique program co-hosted with Le Parisien. However, travelers who have undergone the screening test at their departure point will not be affected upon arrival in France, it is specified.
On Saturday, a decree published in the Official Journal reveals the list of "areas of circulation of the SARS-CoV-2 virus infection." In France, there are Mayotte and Guyana. All countries are affected except those in the European Union and about twenty others, including Morocco, the United Kingdom, Switzerland, and Canada.
"We will be able to do 2,000 PCR tests per day," Gabriel Attal said. In total, about forty people will be involved.
