France Honors Foreign Workers with Citizenship for Covid-19 Service

Moroccans are among the foreign workers naturalized in France last week for their civic engagement during the health crisis.
Due to the health crisis related to Covid-19, about half a dozen people participated in the latest ceremony for the presentation of naturalization decrees, reports Vosges Matin. "Your active participation in national development, with courage and dedication, is a testimony to your spirit of solidarity in remaining mobilized while part of the population was confined to protect themselves from the epidemic, when vaccination was not yet possible," said Prefect Yves Séguy.
The newly naturalized are mostly health or care workers, maintenance workers, food industry employees, truckers or delivery people, justifying 2 to 46 years of presence on French territory. They come from Eastern Europe (Bulgaria), Southern Europe (Portugal, Italy), West Africa and also the Maghreb (Morocco).
