France on High Alert: Multiple Terror Plots Foiled as Threat Persists

At least half a dozen attacks have been thwarted in recent months in France. The terrorist threat is still present and the National Anti-Terrorism Prosecutor’s Office (PNAT) is concerned and issues a warning.
The threat is based on two poles, according to Jean-François Ricard, head of the PNAT, in a statement to Franceinfo.
There is the one that Jean-François Ricard called the "exported threat" controlled by French nationals first free in Syrian territory, capable of harm, either have managed to cross the border between Syria and Turkey.
The so-called Islamic State (IS) organization, despite its military weakening, is still strong. Many of its former elements, nationals of countries other than France, have managed to settle in France and set up new structures.
To this threat is added the "endogenous threat", constituted by isolated individuals sometimes suffering from mental imbalances and who have Daesh as a model, added the head of the PNA.
Jean-François Ricard reassures that the 170 French, women and men, returned to their country as part of police cooperation agreements with Turkey, are being monitored on both the administrative and judicial levels; whether those who are already free after serving their prison sentences or the others awaiting to regain their freedom.
