France Eases Travel Restrictions: Morocco Moved to ’Orange Zone’ for COVID-19 Measures

France has removed Morocco from the "red zone" characterized by particularly active circulation of the Covid-19 epidemic and classified it in the orange zone. Travelers from the kingdom will no longer be subject to quarantine upon arrival in French territory.
It is through a decree amending the decree of June 7, 2021 identifying the areas of circulation of the SARS-CoV-2 virus infection, published in the official journal on Friday, October 8, that France has removed Morocco, South Africa, Algeria, Colombia and Tunisia from the red zone "characterized by particularly active circulation of the Covid-19 epidemic or by the spread of certain variants of SARS-CoV-2 presenting a risk of increased transmissibility or immune escape".
These countries are now classified in the orange zone. In addition to children under 11 years of age, all travelers from Morocco - regardless of their vaccination status - must present to the transport company and border control authorities a negative PCR test dated less than 72 hours before departure (departure of the first flight in case of travel with a connection) or a negative antigen test dated less than 48 hours before departure (departure of the first flight in case of travel with a connection). Vaccinated travelers must also present a sworn statement attesting to the absence of symptoms of Covid-19 infection and contact with a confirmed case of Covid-19 and proof of vaccination status.
As for unvaccinated travelers, they must also present a sworn statement attesting to the absence of symptoms of Covid-19 infection and contact with a confirmed case of Covid-19; a sworn commitment to undergo the antigen test or biological examination that will be carried out upon arrival in metropolitan France and a sworn commitment to isolate themselves for seven days and a sworn commitment to undergo a virological screening test (PCR) at the end of the isolation period.
All travelers from Morocco will no longer be subject to quarantine upon arrival in French territory.
