France Dissolves Controversial Muslim Rights Group Amid Islamism Concerns

The French government announced, on Wednesday, in the Council of Ministers, the dissolution of the Collective against Islamophobia (CCIF). According to the Minister of the Interior, Gérald Darmanin, this organization has been "carrying out Islamist propaganda for several years".
Before the decision of the Council of Ministers, the CCIF had already announced a few days earlier its "voluntary dissolution", adding that its assets had been "transferred to partner associations that will be responsible for taking over the fight against Islamophobia at the European level". The French Minister of the Interior had announced his wish to dissolve the CCIF in the days following the assassination, on October 16, of Samuel Paty, a History-Geography teacher.
In the face of the outcry caused by the murder of this teacher, the French authorities have taken many so-called sovereign decisions, including the closure of a mosque in Pantin near Paris and the dissolution of two other structures for the same reasons. A dissolution confirmed by the Council of State, the highest administrative court in the country.
