France Discourages All International Travel Amid COVID-19 Surge

France "totally and strictly" discourages its citizens, including Moroccans residing on its territory, from international travel until further notice.
In a statement published under the title "Important Notice", the French Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs emphasizes that "a strict limitation of travel is required to slow the progression of the epidemic worldwide, due to the very active circulation of the COVID-19 virus and its variants."
"Consequently, any international travel - from abroad to France and from France to abroad - is totally and strictly discouraged until further notice," the ministry warns.
When travel for compelling reasons is nevertheless necessary, it is necessary to comply with the restrictive measures put in place upon entry into French territory with the aim of limiting the spread of the virus, it is specified.
On Thursday, French Prime Minister Jean Castex announced that from Monday, January 18, 2021, all travelers wishing to come to France from a country outside the European Union, whatever it is, will have to take a test before departure and present a negative test to board a plane or boat. These travelers will also have to "commit on their honor to isolate themselves for seven days once they arrive in France, and then take a second PCR test at the end."
