France Boosts Funding for Overseas French Schools by 25 Million Euros

Paris is about to release an additional 25 million euros in 2020 for the teaching of French abroad and tuition fees will be reduced.
During the Conference of French Ambassadors, organized annually in Paris, Jean-Yves Le Drian, Minister of Foreign Affairs, announced the colors. "The Agency for French Teaching Abroad, the backbone of our educational offering worldwide, will have an additional 25 million euros as early as 2020," he said.
Similarly, the number of teachers will increase, with an additional 1,000 tenured teachers seconded abroad in the coming years. As for the level of family participation in tuition fees, there will be no more increases. Better, it will return to its 2016 level, according to the Minister of Foreign Affairs.
According to the French diplomatic chief, this investment aims to "consolidate the instruments of influence diplomacy." He remains convinced that culture, information and development are the new attributes of power.
