France Approves 23 Temporary Slaughterhouses for Eid al-Adha 2021

A few days before Eid al-Adha 2021, the French government has published the provisional list of temporary slaughterhouses approved for the duration of the festival.
In total, 23 temporary slaughterhouses are approved by the Ministry of Agriculture for the period of Eid al-Adha 2021, from Tuesday, July 20 to Thursday, July 22. The list was published in the official journal on July 13. It is a provisional list of 19 establishments, which will be supplemented before next Tuesday. Four other structures will be added to these temporary slaughterhouses, including three communicated by the prefecture of Isère, in Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes, to bring the number of slaughterhouses to 23, reports Saphirnews.
The Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region has the most temporary slaughterhouses. There are three in Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur. In Ile-de-France, where many Muslims live, there are two temporary slaughterhouses, in Montereau-Fault-Yonne, in Seine-et-Marne, and in Dugny, in Seine-Saint-Denis.
In 2020, the Ministry of Agriculture authorized around 40 slaughterhouses for the Eid el-Kebir period celebrated in a Covid-19 context. Just like last year, Muslims will once again celebrate this festival in the same health context.
