France Appoints First Female Ambassador to Morocco, Hélène Le Gal to Leave Israel Post

She is the first woman to become French ambassador to Morocco and she, Hélène Le Gal, should take up her duties next September. She has been ambassador of France in Israel since September 2016.
Maghreb Intelligence writes: "France has just appointed Hélène Le Gal to head its embassy in Rabat. Until now posted in Tel Aviv, the 52-year-old diplomat should take up her duties as early as next September".
The latter has an impressive curriculum vitae. Graduated from the Institute of Political Studies in Paris in 1987, she becomes a year later second secretary at the French embassy in Burkina Faso. Seven years later, in 1994, she obtains a position of first Secretary at the French embassy in Israel (an embassy she will reintegrate in 2016 as ambassador). She then holds central positions in Spain and Brussels. In 2005, she becomes deputy director of Central and Eastern Africa at the Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs. She is appointed Consul General of France in Quebec in 2009, a position she will hold until 2012 when she becomes Africa adviser to former President François Hollande. And in 2016, ambassador of France in Israel.
Hélène Le Gal is also a Knight of the National Order of Merit (2008) and in 2012 she was made a Knight of the Legion of Honor. In Mali, Niger and Guinea she is a Commander of the Order of Merit. In Senegal she was awarded the title of Officer of the National Order of the Lion.
The former French ambassador to Djibouti and the Central African Republic, Serge Mucetti, will assist her and will hold the position of Consul General in Rabat. Note that she will succeed Jean-François Girault as French ambassador to Morocco.
