France and Morocco in Talks to Resolve Visa Crisis, Government Says

A month after France’s decision to tighten the conditions for granting visas to Moroccans, the two countries are multiplying discussions to find a solution to this crisis.
Grabriel Attal, spokesman for the French government, indicated on Wednesday that France is not pleased with the situation resulting from this decision and has always favored the path of dialogue. For the official, since the adoption of this "fully assumed" measure, "discussions are continuing with the authorities of Morocco, Algeria and Tunisia".
For the time being, he deplored, "exchanges are more complicated with Morocco and Algeria" unlike Tunisia which is increasingly willing to meet the conditions of the French government, by issuing "several hundred consular laissez-passer which have made it possible to carry out border returns of their nationals", which France does not wish to keep on its territory.
However, discussions are continuing with Morocco, Attal reassured, specifying that "there will be new meetings, in the coming days, between the (French) ministers concerned and their (Moroccan and Algerian) counterparts, including with Prime Minister Jean Castex".
