France Adds Morocco to COVID-19 Red List Amid Surge in Cases

Morocco has been classified by France on the red list of "countries where the virus is circulating quite actively with worrying variants". Like Morocco, Algeria will also be on this list, while Tunisia has been on it for a month.
The Kingdom has been facing a surge in Covid-19 cases for several weeks. Next Saturday, it will join the red list of high-risk countries, according to the French authorities, who on Wednesday amended the decree identifying the areas of virus SARS-CoV-2 infection. "This decree will be published in the Official Journal of the French Republic and will come into effect on August 21," the ministerial decree states.
While Tunisia was already on the red list since July 18, Morocco and Algeria were previously on the orange list, but with the emergence of "worrying variants", the data has changed.
As of next Saturday, unvaccinated people coming from Morocco or Algeria will no longer be able to enter France, except for compelling reasons. And even in this case, these people will have to be vaccinated. If they are not vaccinated, they will have to undergo an antigen test upon arrival in France as well as a mandatory and controlled 10-day isolation.
