Former French Official Jailed: Faces Charges of Child Sexual Assault in Morocco and France

A French elected official is now in pre-trial detention after being indicted for allegations of rape and sexual assaults on minors, one of which allegedly occurred in Morocco.
A few weeks ago, Charles Kermarec, former member of the municipal majority in Brest, had resigned from his positions as vice-president of Brest metropolis and municipal councilor. The mayor of the city had at the time mentioned "serious facts", reports Actu.fr.
The revelation was made by the Brest public prosecutor on Thursday, June 8. Kermarec is suspected of incestuous rape and sexual assaults on minors. These acts would have taken place over a period from January 1, 2005 to December 31, 2011 in various places, including Brest, Vendée, Corsica, Saint-Tropez, Cannes and even Agadir in Morocco.
Kermarec’s file also contains allegations of sexual assaults on minors in January 2012 and 2015 in Brest.
