Former Education Minister Admits Language Slip-up in Radio Interview, Responds with Humor

Raphaël Enthoven attacked Najat Vallaud-Belkacem, without naming her, on Twitter, by pointing out a French mistake she would have made, on Tuesday on France Inter. While many Internet users expected a response of the same tenor as the posted message, the former minister reacted with humor while acknowledging her error.
"At 8:38 am today, on France Inter, a former Minister of National Education said ’pallier à’". Pointed out, Najat Vallaud-Belkacem responded calmly. "It’s rare that I agree with you, Raphaël Enthoven, but here I admit that I was seized with a great inner malaise when my tongue thus stumbled. A thousand apologies to all the ears that must have bled."
Internet users have shown solidarity in reading the response given by the latter. "We forgive you", "thank you for acknowledging it", "there, without the mistake, it’s better", can be read in the comments. "If that’s all he could find to criticize, life is good," an anonymous person replied.
After distancing himself from the political scene, following his departure from the government, Najat Vallaud-Belkacem is regaining a fairly important place in the media-political landscape. In March, she announced her candidacy for the regional elections.
