Former Coach Defends Badr Hari, Denies Involvement in Glory 80 Riot

The clashes that took place on March 19 in the Trixxo Arena in Hasselt, Belgium during the fight between the Moroccan Badr Hari and the Polish Arkadiusz Wrzosek at Glory 80 continue to generate comments. Michael Passenier, former coach of the Moroccan champion, rules out any involvement of the one he trained for 15 years in these riots. Will he train Badr Hari again?

After two rounds, clashes took place in the Trixxo Arena, and the kickboxing evening was stopped. Interviewed by the Sports Office who did a podcast on Glory 80 and asked him if Badr Hari was involved in the riots because he was losing his fight against the Polish Arkadiusz Wrzosek, Michael Passenier, former coach of the Moroccan champion, replies: "I don’t think so, why would he do that, he’s too sporty." When asked if the Moroccan champion was asking him to train him again, he says he should think about it first.

Polish hooligans had thrown projectiles at Belgo-Moroccan supporters during Glory 80. A fight had then broken out, and the Glory organization had had to stop the event. Badr Hari had just taken a Knockdown. Glory condemned these incidents and subsequently excluded the Polish Arkadiusz Wrzosek from its organization.
