Former Charlie Hebdo Journalist’s Books Vandalized at Brussels Book Fair

The stand of journalist Zineb El Rhazoui at the Brussels Book Fair was vandalized last Wednesday. The person responsible left a note that said "Dirty fascists".
"The stand of the former Charlie Hebdo journalist and activist, Zineb El Rhazoui, was vandalized this Wednesday, February 13, by an individual during the Book Fair in Brussels. The young man in the backpack is said to have evaded security," Le Soir reports at the outset. However, it should be noted that it was not (only) Zineb El Rhazoui’s stand, as Le Soir itself pointed out that the individual tore up "several books, some of which belonged to the Franco-Moroccan activist".
This act is said to have taken place around 11:45 pm on Wednesday. The note left at the scene by the author, "Dirty fascists", says a lot. The publisher, Ring, is even described as the "preferred publishing house of the fascist sphere" by the French media Libération.
However, Zineb El Rhazoui claims to be far from politics, judging by her comments: "The issues I defend transcend political affiliations." Let’s remember, however, that the title of her book is "Destroying Islamic Fascism"...
As for her choice of publisher, she states: "As for my publisher, I respond to the content of my books (...) and I am very happy to find a publisher who agrees to publish me."
Finally, let’s note that Zineb el Rhazoui has been under police protection since the attacks that targeted Charlie Hebdo on January 7, 2015 and that she often receives death threats.
