Former Bordeaux Star Chamakh Pursues Coaching Career, Eyes Future Return

Three years after his retirement, former Moroccan striker of the Girondins de Bordeaux, Marouane Chamakh, plans to return to the sidelines. Next June, he is starting a new adventure in Morocco. The former footballer reveals, in an interview with Eurosport, his new project, his dreams after his career and especially his opinion on the current management of Bordeaux.
"I’m starting my first coaching diplomas in Morocco from June, it’s nice," said Marouane Chamakh. At 37, this 2009 French champion does not rule out becoming the coach of the Girondins within 5-10 years. "It’s 100% feasible, but I don’t want to rush. If I want to coach, I have to have the necessary background to do it," he assured.
Marouane Chamakh says he has devoted the three years after his career to his little family and his personal affairs. Speaking about the circumstances of his retirement, the former striker points out that he did not hang up his boots due to a lack of a club but because he preferred to enjoy his family. "I had offers in the United States, China, the Middle East... But I preferred to draw a line and enjoy my family," Chamakh revealed before
