Former BFM TV Anchor Denies Misconduct Allegations in Parliamentary Hearing

Former BFM TV presenter Rachid M’Barki was summoned before a parliamentary inquiry commission on March 2. This hearing follows his dismissal from the channel for "serious misconduct".

During his hearing before the parliamentary inquiry commission, M’Barki denounced these accusations, claiming that he had never received money to broadcast images that were transmitted to him. However, he acknowledged having frequented Jean-Pierre Duthillon, a lobbyist and alleged intermediary of the Team Jorge organization.

Among the sequences blamed on M’Barki is a report on the organization of a Morocco-Spain economic forum in Dakhla, during which he used the term "Moroccan Sahara". This "semantics" was pointed out by LR rapporteur Constance Le Grip, who criticized M’Barki’s attitude towards Morocco.

During his hearing, M’Barki also denounced the methods of "Story Killers", and in particular his colleague from Radio France Frédéric Métézeau, a member of the collective, whom he accuses of having created an affair by brandishing the name and face of a well-known TV news presenter.

This affair has had dramatic repercussions on M’Barki’s career, who lamented, in tears, the "media lynching" to which he was subjected.
