Ferry Service Halts Tangier-Marseille Route Amid COVID-19 Border Restrictions

The "La Méridionale" company has decided to suspend the Tangier-Marseille crossings until further notice. This decision follows the latest restrictive measures taken by the French government, in particular the closure of borders to countries outside the European Union.
"Following the government measures related to the COVID19 health crisis, we are forced to cancel the crossings between Tangier and Marseille for the month of February and until further notice," informs the carrier on its Facebook page.
"Our teams in Marseille and Tangier are mobilized to assist passengers," he added.
Furthermore, La Méridionale says it is in the process of contacting the passengers concerned by the planned and already booked trips for the month of February, and even the last day of January, to inform them of the implementation of this measure.
