New Ferry "Majestic" Cuts Emissions on France-Morocco Route with Advanced Scrubber Technology

The "Majestic" of the GNV company arrived from Morocco (Tanger Med) on the waters of Sète, Wednesday, July 8. Its particularity: this ferry is equipped with a smoke scrubber.
This is one of the ferries that connects Sète and Morocco (Tanger Med), reports Midi Libre. The "Majestic" is equipped with a new chimney in accordance with the new rules in place since March 1.
Vessels are now required to release seven times less sulfur into the atmosphere, no more than 0.1% sulfur when in port. All shipowners, including ferries, are therefore required to opt for less loaded fuels, or to equip their ships with scrubbers, or to switch to other modes of propulsion, such as gas or electricity, it is specified.
