Fatal Minibus Crash in Morocco: Young Athlete Killed, Multiple Children Injured Near Beni Mellal

A terrible accident occurred on the night of Sunday, February 23, at the level of the Tizi Nsli bends in Beni Mellal. A minibus, transporting a group of young runners returning from a sports event in Rabat, overturned, leaving one dead and several seriously injured.
As it was heading towards Kelaa Mgouna, the minibus left the road for a reason that remains to be determined. One young man died on the spot, while about ten children, including 5 girls, were seriously injured.
The area was cordoned off by the rescue services, who arrived in large numbers in the area to assist the victims. Several ambulances were dispatched to the scene to allow the injured children to quickly reach the Beni Mellal hospital.
An investigation has been opened by the Royal Gendarmerie, under the supervision of the Public Prosecutor’s Office, to determine the exact circumstances of the accident.
