European Police Bust Major IPTV Piracy Ring, Impacting Moroccan Users

The German and Italian police, under the auspices of Europol, have dismantled an Italian network of IPTV distributors. An operation that could affect Moroccans who are numerous to use this means of access to television content on the Internet.
The clandestine network, composed of twelve Italians and one Albanian, offered its services to individuals and resellers on Telegram via the "Impero IPTV" channel and had approximately 620,000 euros in cryptocurrency. The members of the network face a sentence of three years in prison and a fine of 300,000 euros, reports Geeko.
But these illegal IPTV networks are never completely dismantled. At the end of May, Europol had also proceeded to dismantle a large IPTV network in the Netherlands, which continued to offer its services just a few hours later. The Italian network could therefore continue to thrive, despite Europol’s crackdown.
Customers of these illegal networks could also be questioned in the near future. In Italy, customers of these IPTV networks have been forced to pay a fine of around a hundred euros. Other countries could follow this example of sanctions.
