Elderly Woman Injured in Altercation on Antwerp Bus, Police Investigating

In Antwerp, an elderly woman accused of being "racist" was thrown off a bus following a dispute with Moroccans. Injured, she was taken to the hospital. The police are investigating the incident.
The events took place on Wednesday evening. A 57-year-old woman was traveling on a bus from Antwerp to a nearby village. In a one-minute video posted on social media by several people, including Belgian MP Tom Van Grieken, president of the nationalist party Vlaams Belang, the middle-aged woman can be seen arguing with a group of young Moroccans. Laughter and a child’s cries can be heard. Shortly after, someone calls the woman a racist.
After an interruption, the middle-aged woman can be heard screaming on the ground outside the bus, her head covered in blood. She clings to her coat and her cart. Another individual still inside the vehicle seems to be lecturing the victim. He can be heard saying: "She was kicked off the bus... She offended a Moroccan and look what happened to her." After the incident, she was hospitalized for a serious injury and her condition is still "worrying," according to local media.
In a post on Twitter, Tom Van Grieken described the "alleged offenders" as "beasts." For its part, the Antwerp police have opened an investigation and are examining the video to clarify the incident. "This is a cut version of what happened. In such incidents, we don’t immediately know who did what," said a police spokesman to the media.
