Elderly Man Faces Trial for Islamophobic Vandalism Against Veiled Women in Strasbourg

A 73-year-old man is being prosecuted in Strasbourg for having punctured the tires of veiled women and left the message "No hijab" on their vehicle.
The author of these Islamophobic acts of vandalism was recently identified, following a police investigation, announces the Collective against Islamophobia in France. The man punctured the tires of several cars belonging to women wearing a headscarf, in a commercial parking lot in Strasbourg, and stuck a note with the mention "No Hijab", denounces the CCIF on its website.
According to Mediapart, the trial of this man, initially scheduled for January 7, is expected on June 2 next at the Strasbourg Criminal Court, where he is to be tried for "degradation of property committed because of belonging to a religion".
In this case, the plaintiffs were supported by the CCIF, which assigned them a lawyer for the hearing, scheduled at the Judicial Tribunal of Strasbourg.
