Drug Trafficking Trial Morocco Network Bayonne Court June 2024
Nine individuals suspected of importing cocaine and cannabis from Morocco appear this Tuesday, June 2 before the Bayonne court. This trial follows the dismantling of a highly organized international trafficking network.
At the heart of this supply logistics operation, the investigation identified two Moroccan brothers aged 38 and 47, based in Irún. They orchestrated the transport of goods coming from Morocco and crossed the Spanish border with the help of accomplices. Their run ended when they were intercepted by Basque police with one hundred kilos of cannabis in their vehicle.

This well-oiled system enabled around thirty convoys to be carried out between November 2023 and May 2024. The network then extended to the Landes, where one of the dealers hid 180,000 euros in cash directly buried in his garden soil.
This major crackdown originated in May 2023, following a simple cocaine transaction observed in the Kiabi car park in Anglet. According to Sud Ouest information, joint investigations by the Anti-Drug Office and the Ertzaintza made it possible to trace the lead to three Landes residents aged 28, 29 and 33, already known for trafficking.
