Drug Trafficking Surges in Puy-de-Dôme: Customs Seize 380 Kilos as Region Becomes Key Transit Route

The customs of Clermont-Ferrand are involved in the fight against drug trafficking in the Puy-de-Dôme, a transit department for Moroccan cannabis as well as other drugs. In total, 380 kilos of drugs seized since the beginning of the year.
In the Puy-de-Dôme, drugs transit through the major highway axes, A75 and A71 and travel by post and express delivery. "They come up from Morocco, the production area via Spain to go north and more broadly to Europe, he explains. The traffickers go through the A75 and the A71, which is a major axis like the Rhône valley".
