Drug Trafficking Ring Busted: 10 Face Trial for Moroccan Cannabis and Heroin Smuggling in France

8 men aged 31 to 44 and 2 women aged 42 and 49 were summoned to appear this Tuesday before the judicial court of Tulle. They are accused of facts of importation, sale of cannabis and heroin from 2016 to 2019.
The facts date back to Sunday, March 3, 2019, during a large-scale operation coordinated by the Tulle research brigade, in collaboration with the support of military personnel from the Limoges research section. It resulted in the arrest of 4 people suspected of supplying a large-scale drug pipeline in the Limousin region, reports La Montagne.
During the searches carried out at the suspects’ homes in the Center, in Picardy, in Limoges and in Ussel, more than 1.5 kilos of pure heroin and more than 2 kilos of cannabis resin, mainly imported from Morocco and the Netherlands, were seized.
According to the same media, the file having been the subject of the opening of a judicial investigation, other waves of arrests were carried out within the framework of letters rogatory given the quantities of illicit products that supplied the entire Limousin region.
As for the 10 people summoned to appear, 4 are currently in pre-trial detention while 5 are under judicial supervision and one is free. They have until this evening to explain their respective alleged roles in this network, we are told.
