The dirham falls further against the euro

The Moroccan currency depreciated by 0.50% against the US dollar and 1.24% against the euro during the period from August 24 to 30, according to data published by Bank Al-Maghrib (BAM).

During this period, no auction operation was carried out on the foreign exchange market, BAM specifies in its weekly bulletin. As of August 25, 2023, the official reserve assets stood at 355.3 billion dirhams (MMDH), up 1% from the previous week and 5% year-on-year, the same source said.

As for the overall trading volume, it stood at 330.9 million dirhams (MDH) compared to 344.3 MDH a week earlier. On the central stock market, the average daily volume amounted to 66.1 MDH after 85.9 MDH.

On Monday, September 4, the dollar was worth 10.175 dirhams while the euro was traded at 10.996 dirhams.
