Deadly Moroccan Scorpion Found in French Man’s Car After Return Trip

A man in his forties living in Esnandes made, on Thursday, July 2, a rather strange discovery on his return from a trip to Morocco.
Confined in Morocco due to Covid-19, the man in his forties managed to return to France, more precisely to Esnandes. However, he was far from imagining that he would make a discovery that would terrify him. On Thursday, the man in his forties discovered an Androctonus mauritanicus scorpion in his 4X4 vehicle, reports SudOuest.
The animal is dark or yellowish in color. It lives in the desert and can measure up to 10 cm long. According to experts, the scorpion is a dangerous animal whose venom toxicity is superior to that of the cobra.
According to the man in his forties, the arachnid would have been introduced into one of his travel bags attached to the roof rack of his 4X4. He was able to isolate it by covering it with a plastic crate, the same source specifies.
Alerted, the animal specialists of the Departmental Fire and Rescue Service of Charente-Maritime (Sdis17) accompanied by the gendarmes of Nieul-sur-Mer went to the scene. Together, they searched the man’s bags to check for the presence of other creatures. But they found nothing.
