Cyclist Embarks on 2,000-Mile Journey from France to Morocco for Children’s Charity

At 26, Camille, a former physical education and sports teacher, has decided to connect Brest to Essaouira (Morocco) by bike, with the main objective of raising funds for the association "a dream, a smile", which allows children with disabilities or chronic illnesses to realize their dream by surprise.
Camille wants to keep her promise, that of returning to Morocco, the first African country she reached on her first solo trip. "Morocco was the site of my first solo trip in 2019. I was able to realize one of my greatest dreams, which was to swim with the horses. I had promised myself to go back there," she confides to franceinfo. Equipped with a good bike and three saddlebags containing all the bivouac equipment and her small belongings, for a load of about 30 kg, she left Brest on Sunday, January 8 to reach Essaouira (Morocco) by bike.
In total, 3,000 km to cover. She intends to advance 40 km per day on average, sometimes cycling 70 km and resting on other days. "This trip is the fulfillment of a dream," says Camille, "but I needed it to also be a project that carries something for others. It gives more strength and motivation." Her friends and users of the Warmshower app, which connects cyclists looking for a hot shower and a roof for the night, will be of great help throughout the journey.
The objective of this bike trip is to raise donations for the association "a dream, a smile", which offers to fulfill the dreams
