Cybersecurity Firm Names Jamel Debbouze as Riskiest French Celebrity in Online Searches

For the thirteenth consecutive year, the McAfee Society, a cybersecurity specialist, has established the list of the twenty French personalities whose search poses risks to Internet users. Among other names, we note the Franco-Moroccan comedian Jamel Debbouze, the singer Angèle and Rémi Gaillard.
Once again this year, McAfee has released the list of French celebrities who expose Internet users the most to acts of cybercrime.
In the lot, Jamel Debbouze, who is highly appreciated for his one-man-shows. He is also credited with creating the Jamel comedy club, not to mention his many roles in several successful films. He is the French celebrity "who generates the most dangerous online searches," reports Clubic, based on the McAfee list.
As a result, the comedian surpasses several other French personalities also featured in this top 20, such as singer Angèle, web-born comedian Rémi Gaillard, actor Omar Sy and actress and former James Bond girl Léa Seydoux, the same source specifies.
According to McAfee, during a "dangerous search", cybercriminals take advantage of the lack of vigilance or unconsciousness of Internet users to lure them to malicious websites. Once their devices are exposed, the hackers can install malware, or even steal confidential information and passwords. Every year, hundreds of thousands of Internet users have been victims of these acts of cybercrime.
Faced with these criminal acts, Gary Davis, Chief Consumer Security Expert at McAfee, recommends that Internet users "protect their digital life by thinking twice before clicking on suspicious links or downloading content." Also, he adds, "streaming and downloading are also sources of piracy."
