Customs Seize Ancient Dinosaur Teeth at Franco-Italian Border

The customs officers in Menton intercepted on Friday nine dinosaur teeth from Morocco in a truck coming from Spain and bound for Italy.
The agents made this surprising discovery during a routine check on the A8 motorway. By searching a truck heading to Italy, they found a package containing nine dinosaur teeth, reports Nice-Matin. The customs officers had the dinosaur teeth expertized. A specialist from the Musée de la Préhistoire régionale de Menton confirmed that they are dinosaur teeth from Morocco dating from 72 to 66 million years ago.
The nine teeth did not belong to the same species of dinosaurs. There is "a tooth of the Plesiosaur Zarafasaura oceanis (a marine reptile with a very long neck), three teeth of the Mosasaur (a marine reptile featured in the film "Jurassic World") and five fossilized teeth of reptiles likely belonging to a Dyrosaurus phosphaticus (a distant relative of the crocodile)," it is specified.
An investigation is underway to determine the identity of the recipients of these fossilized teeth, as well as the fate of these historical pieces.
