Crowdfunding Launched for Monument to Honor Moroccan Soldiers Who Died for France

An association in France is organizing a crowdfunding campaign to erect "in memory and tribute to the Moroccan soldiers who died for France" a monument worthy of them, in this case a 5-pointed red star, carved in stone, symbolizing the Moroccan flag.
"Noting that there is no monument, neither in our region nor elsewhere in France, celebrating the courage, the heroism of Moroccan soldiers, hunters, riflemen, spahis, who died for France, on the battlefields of Valois and Soissonnais in 1914 and 1915," specifies the Adefram-Picardie, a Franco-Moroccan friendship association, created in 2000, which is organizing a crowdfunding campaign for the construction of a sculpted monument representing the Moroccan flag.
According to the information from the ONAC (National Office of Former Combatants and War Victims), the association would have filed several grant applications to carry out this project. "The amounts received are far from covering the entire work," however, declares the association. So it’s time for the collection.
However, let us recall that a stele was erected in September 2017 in Chauconin-Neufmontiers in the Paris region, in tribute to the Moroccan soldiers who participated in the Battle of the Marne in 1914. And the Moroccan soldiers who perished or participated in the two world wars often receive tributes in France.
