Créteil Hosts Week-Long Celebration of Moroccan Jewish Culture and Heritage

The University and Social Cultural Association and the Consistoire de Paris are organizing a Judeo-Moroccan week in Créteil, France. The event will be held from March 12 to 19 and placed under the high patronage of King Mohammed VI.
On the program of this Judeo-Moroccan cultural week, the opening of the exhibition "Moroccan Judaism: Perspectives and Testimonies", lent by the Museum of Judaism in Casablanca and the Mohammed VI Mosque in Saint-Étienne. There will also be a concert, conferences, round tables and film screenings. "The Jews of Morocco do not forget their country (Bladi) and continue to celebrate this pleasant life by integrating their memories into private or public celebrations," write the organizers.
Organized at the Créteil community center, this event will be attended by several diplomatic officials, religious and community representatives known for their efforts in the service of Judaism. Among the films scheduled are "Adieu mères" by Mohamed Ismail, "Tipat Mazal" by Zeev Revach, "Ya Hessra... Douk Liyam" by Serge and Marc Berdugo, "Racines judéo-marocaines" by Izza Genini, and "Choter Azoulay" by Ephraim Kishon, reports The times of Israël.
A discussion meeting on the aftermath of the Abraham Accords is planned. As for the conferences, Mohammed Kenbib, Professor Emeritus at the University Mohammed V in Rabat, Director of the Royal Institute for Historical Research of Morocco, has been asked to present the theme, "Jews and Muslims in Morocco, History and Present Time".
The week will end with a concert of Judeo-Andalusian music, with the participation of artists from Israel and Morocco, at the Espace Martin Luther King in Créteil. "This is the first time that an event of this magnitude is being held in Créteil," said Albert Elharrar, president of the Jewish community of Créteil. Admission tickets are available from 35 euros.
