COVID-19 Outbreak Among North African Seasonal Farm Workers in Southern France

A massive screening campaign has detected 12 cases of coronavirus contamination in two agricultural farms in Grans, in the Bouches-du-Rhône region. These people infected with covid-19 are seasonal workers from Morocco and Algeria.
After testing positive for covid-19, these 12 Moroccan and Algerian seasonal workers have been confined to their farm, reports La Provence. According to the same source, an investigation is underway to trace the journey of these agricultural workers. The goal is to identify contact persons. "This cluster is for the moment confined to the agricultural farms," reassured the mayor of Grans, Yves Vidal.
The town hall of St-Rémy-de-Provence, in coordination with the prefecture and the ARS, had organized mass screening for the benefit of farmers in the Bouches-du-Rhône, after the discovery of 30 positive cases among seasonal workers in Maillane and Noves.
