COVID-19 Claims 147 Lives in Moroccan Community in France

A report on the covid-19 deaths recorded within the Moroccan community in France shows 147 MREs.
Already affected by mourning, the Moroccan community living in France unfortunately cannot repatriate the remains to respect the last wishes of the families of the deceased.
Among the deceased is the father of the Franco-Moroccan deputy, Mustapha Laabid, who died in Rennes on May 2 from a chronic illness.
As announced by the Moroccan authorities, the ministry in charge of the Moroccan community has taken care of the burial expenses of 11 people in precarious situations, including the case of a Moroccan found dead in the room of a shelter. This situation raises the thorny issue of the "Chibanis" who live in shelters where social distancing is almost impossible.
Moroccans in France say this pandemic amplifies their grief. If they manage to bury their loved ones in a Muslim section due to the saturation of denominational sections in cemeteries, the ban on any funeral rites and the funerals that now take place in the strictest intimacy, further disrupt the essential grieving work, it is still specified.
