Controversial ’Borat’ Film Poster Sparks Outrage Over Religious Imagery

The poster for the film "Borat Subsequent Moviefilm" showing Borat naked, with a ring with Allah’s name (in Arabic) on his finger, on RATP buses is causing outrage and disapproval among Internet users.
The ongoing advertising campaign for the film "Borat Subsequent Moviefilm" is sparking heated controversy. We see the deranged hero played by Sacha Baron Cohen posing with only a surgical mask covering his private parts on the film’s poster, as described by Le Parisien. He also wears a ring with Allah’s name on his finger. Enough to shock the web.
"Provocation", "insult", "lack of respect", comment some Internet users. Others call for an outright boycott of the film offered exclusively on the Amazon Prime platform. "Unbelievable! We’re going to scratch off the poster," rages a RATP bus driver.
Despite the controversy, the RATP insists it will not remove this campaign from the network. Conversely, the TICE network has removed Borat’s poster from its buses in Essonne. The network says this poster "did not receive any complaints or reluctance from passengers or drivers" but its "second-degree humor was deemed inappropriate by TICE management".
