Comedian Booder Reveals Childhood Health Battle That Nearly Claimed His Life

Invited on Saturday on the 50’ inside show on TF1, Booder discussed the serious health problems he experienced during his childhood that affected his physique.
Answering Isabelle Ithurburu’s questions, the comedian confided that he had serious lung problems (severe asthma and bronchiolitis) just a few months after his birth in Morocco. His attending physician had informed his parents that he did not have much time left to live. "The village doctor had told my mother that I would not make it through the winter," Booder explained.
"You have before you a person who was born in August 1978 and was supposed to die in December 1978," added the 45-year-old actor. Booder owes his survival to his father who was living and working in France and did the impossible to repatriate him to the Hexagon in order to offer him better treatment.
Once in France, Booder spent the first six years of his life in the Necker hospital in Paris. Today, "I am living my second life," rejoiced the comedian who did not fail to thank his parents whom he considers his "heroes".
Mohammed Benyamna by civil status, Booder recently assured that he is not affected by the mockery he receives about his physique. "Contrary to what one might think, I did not suffer these mockeries, because I have the chance to be born with repartee, with humor. Self-deprecation is first and foremost to make fun of the way people look at you. It helped me a lot," he said in the columns of Télé Star.
