Clermont World Cup: Morocco to Face France in Opening Match of Local Football Tournament

Morocco will play the opening match of the Clermont World Cup, formerly the CAN (Africa Cup of Nations), against France on Sunday, June 5.
Bilal, Bouba, Boucif and Ava are busy organizing the Clermont CAN, a football competition in the Croix-de-Neyrat neighborhood, which has become the World Cup. Everything is almost ready for the launch of this unique tournament which will take place from June 5 to July 3 at the Gabriel-Montpied stadium and its annex, reports La Montagne. This year, France, Portugal and South Africa will be at this sporting event. In total, eight teams are competing. "It’s really like the World Cup. And on top of that, it’s the year of the ’real’ one in Qatar, it’s a sign," rejoices Bilal, noting that there are quite a few players with a regional or even National 2 level who will participate.
Placed in group A, Morocco will play the opening match against France at the Gabriel-Montpied stadium on Sunday, June 5. The second match on Sunday will oppose Algeria to Portugal. The matches between South Africa and Guinea, Tunisia and Comoros will take place on Monday, June 6 at the Gabriel-Montpied stadium. All these matches will be broadcast live on the website of La Montagne. Admission to the stadium and the annex is free. The organizers will inform the public about the upcoming matches and competition information via the event’s Instagram account: cdmclermont.
