Casablanca Launches Unified Real Estate Pricing System to Boost Transparency

In order to guarantee more transparency and strengthen the trust of citizens in the public administration, the Minister of Economy and Finance, Mohamed Benchaâboun, chaired last Tuesday in Rabat, the presentation of the common reference of prices for real estate and land transactions that will be deployed at the level of Greater Casablanca starting July 1st.

This is a partnership agreement of major interest for the people of Casablanca, signed between the Director General of Taxes, Omar Faraj, and the Director General of the National Agency for Land Registry, Cadastre and Mapping (ANCFCC), Karim Tajmouati. The presence of the Minister of Economy and Finance, who chaired the ceremony, needs no further emphasis.

The agreement in question will officially launch the new common reference of prices for real estate and land transactions in the Greater Casablanca area, which will be operational from July 1st. An important development tool that will extend to the entire Kingdom over a 12-month period, and which, according to the authorities, will be subject to "regular updates and updates, in order to allow it to reflect the reality of the real estate and land market".

According to the Minister of Economy and Finance, "this reference will help to ensure more transparency and strengthen the trust of citizens in the public administration, insofar as the latter will now be able to access the information, like the administrations, by integrating the database". So, in plain language, it is a matter of reducing citizens’ complaints and thus simplifying administrative procedures.

This reference, which applies to real estate and land transactions relating to property for residential, professional, commercial, industrial, tourist, craft and agricultural use, will contribute to the simplification of administrative procedures and the establishment of a climate of partnership and trust with users.
