Butcher Arrested After Stabbing Coworker in Paris Shop Dispute

During a dispute, a Moroccan butcher stabbed his Afghan colleague, leaving him in critical condition. The alleged aggressor was arrested and taken into custody.
The incident took place in a butcher’s shop on Saturday, January 28 in Paris (18th arrondissement). While two employees were serving the customers crowded in front of the business, one, a 36-year-old Moroccan, "asked" the other, a 33-year-old Afghan, "to take care of a particular customer," but he was met with the refusal of the latter, who is already taking care of a customer, reports Le Parisien. Immediately, a dispute broke out between the two butchers and ended up escalating. The Moroccan grabbed a 24 cm blade knife and stabbed his colleague in the shoulder. Seriously injured, the Afghan was admitted to the hospital in critical condition. Currently, he would be out of danger.
The perpetrator of the stabbing was apprehended after the altercation. He will be held in custody at the premises of the 2nd Judicial Police District. Justifying his act, he told the investigators that his colleague seemed "threatening" when he approached him. An investigation for attempted homicide has been opened. It will later be reclassified as intentional violence with an ITT of more than 8 days.
