Brussels Terror Attack Victims Receive $64 Million in Compensation, Insurance Group Reports

Six years after the attacks that took place in Zaventem and Maelbeek, the victims including Moroccans have received around 58.8 million euros, according to the latest figures published on Tuesday by Assuralia.
According to the details provided by Assuralia, of the 58.8 million euros paid under the relevant insurance policies, nearly 50 million are devoted to bodily and moral damages. These attacks that took place on March 22, 2016 caused many victims, including the Belgian-Moroccan Loubna Lafquiri, a 34-year-old physical education teacher.
They are a total of 1,422 victims who have come forward to insurers for cases of death, permanent injuries, but also for various bodily injuries and others.
In addition to these victims, there are those who, seriously injured, have not yet been able to benefit from a complete assessment of the various injuries. But in the meantime, money has been granted to them for the moral prejudice suffered. The total cost of the claims amounts to 119.4 million euros.
