Brussels Professors Challenge Veil Ban Reversal in Higher Education

Professors at the Francisco Ferrer Higher Education Institute in Brussels have decided to appeal the decision allowing two veiled students to attend classes.
The French-speaking Court of First Instance of Brussels had ruled on November 24, 2021 in favor of two students from the Francisco Ferrer Higher Education Institute who had been prohibited from wearing the veil in the college. The institution was supposed to appeal before January 20, 2022, but it did not take action. This inaction is not to the liking of certain professors.
More than 70 active and retired professors have then decided to take legal action, reports Le Soir. Their goal: to bring the whole case back before the judge in order to maintain neutrality in their classrooms. The wish of these professors is that the first instance judgment be simply annulled.
