Brussels Invests €713,000 to Combat Hiring Discrimination and Boost Workplace Diversity

The Brussels government has announced that it will provide public services with funding of 713,000 euros to fight discrimination related to hiring and promote diversity in the job market.
This allocation corresponding to 19 projects is part of the authorities’ desire to effectively combat discrimination in hiring, a real societal problem in the Brussels region, reports Belga, citing Employment Minister Bernard Clerfayt.
These prejudices are racial, religious or physical in nature, related to disability, according to a press release from the ministry, adding that the victims are traumatized during the various stages of the recruitment process, particularly during a job interview or when examining a CV.
