Brussels Elections: Fouad Ahidar Team Seeks to Expand Municipal Influence After Regional Success

After managing to obtain three elected representatives in the parliament of the Brussels-Capital Region (Dutch-speaking wing) following the legislative elections of June 9, could the Fouad Ahidar Team repeat the feat in the municipal elections on October 13?
Will Fouad Ahidar and his Team surprise again in the municipal elections, as they did in the legislative elections? Supported by the strong Muslim community in the Brussels region, Fouad has managed to rally people to his cause. His Team has filed lists in seven Brussels municipalities and could succeed in representing the Dutch-speaking wing in the government of the Brussels-Capital Region if it manages to obtain a majority after the October 13 elections.
The vote counting is well underway. The results indicate that the Fouad Ahidar Team obtained 5.1% of the votes in Saint-Josse-ten-Noode, 8.5% in Schaerbeek and 14.7% in Molenbeek-Saint-Jean. If these results are confirmed, it would obtain 4 municipal council seats in Schaerbeek and at least 7 seats in Molenbeek. In Woluwe-Saint-Lambert, Anderlecht, Brussels-City and Jette, the Fouad Team obtained respectively 2.8%, 15.7%, 9.7% and 10.5% of the scores. These results are not final, according to RTBF.
In less than two years, the Fouad Ahidar Team has managed to establish itself as a political force in the Brussels region. Outside the region, it does not carry much weight. This is evidenced by its results in Antwerp and Ghent where it did not obtain any representatives, and in Vilvoorde, where it has one representative.
