Brussels Airport to Implement COVID-19 Testing for Travelers from High-Risk Areas

Moroccans residing in Belgium and any other passenger arriving or returning from a risk area will be subjected to Covid-19 screening tests at Brussels Airport. The airport wants to install a mobile laboratory in the very near future, which will be operational by early September.
"Public health has been an absolute priority for Brussels Airport since the start of the coronavirus crisis. That’s why we’ve decided to go further by offering the possibility of a Covid-19 test in a mobile laboratory at the airport. Anyone returning from a red zone will be able to be tested as soon as they arrive at Brussels Airport. Outbound passengers will also be able to get tested. With a rapid test, the results will be available within three hours," says Arnaud Feist, CEO of the Brussels Airport Company airport operator.
Moroccans residing abroad (MREs) and other passengers will be able to be tested in the mobile laboratory that will be installed outside the airport terminal (departure level), reports Air journal. The availability of results will depend on the tests performed: 3 hours for a rapid test and 9 hours for a standard test. Passengers arriving from a red zone like Morocco will be tested at the price set by the INAMI, i.e. 46.81 euros, it is specified. Passengers for whom Covid-19 tests are not mandatory will have to pay 67 euros for a standard test and 135 euros for a rapid test.
